Roguecraft DX

Cartridge 9 in the Evercade Home Computer Collection.

The modern Amiga hit, winner of the Retro World Award at the 2025 Debug Indie Game Awards, comes to Evercade in an all-new expanded, enhanced form!

Roguecraft DX is a traditional roguelike dungeon-crawler inspired by the classic 1980s game Rogue. It’s turn-based, with procedurally generated levels — you explore fifteen areas, starting in the wilderness and ending in a battle against an eldritch horror, weighing up whether to push for a bigger score or rush for the exit.

Character Classes

  • Warrior — highest health and strength, no special abilities
  • Rogue — moderate stats, with teleportation and backstab abilities
  • Wizard — lowest combat stats, but ranged magic attacks

Progression & Items

Instead of traditional experience points, defeating enemies drops coloured gems — red gems boost max health, blue gems increase strength. Potion effects are randomised but stay consistent for the length of a run, chests can contain dangerous mimics, and the rare “Divine Intervention” item acts as an extra life.

What’s New in the DX Version

The Evercade release adds five extra levels and new room layouts on top of the original Amiga game, plus an expanded soundtrack by composer Jogeir Liljedahl, more potion variety, new enemy types, and a new achievements system.

The original Roguecraft won the “Retro World” award at the 2025 Debug Indie Game Awards and scored 90%+ reviews from Amiga Addict and Retro Gamer. Roguecraft DX is available on physical Evercade cartridge only — it’s Cartridge 9 in the Home Computer Collection, not a digital download.
