Who runs this site
Evercade.info is run by an individual based in Ireland, who is responsible for the information described below. You can reach them through the Contact Me page. The site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blaze Entertainment or HyperMegaTech!.
What we collect, and why
Visitor analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages are popular, and where visitors come from. It is set up through the Site Kit by Google and Google Analytics for WordPress plugins. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. We use this to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors. Google’s own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Contact and submission forms
When you use a form on the site (for example the contact form, or a submission form for secrets, controller compatibility or cartridge information), we collect what you type into it, usually your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply to you and to deal with your submission. Form entries are stored in the site’s database, and notification emails are sent through a mail service. We keep messages only as long as needed to deal with them, then delete them.
Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and Akismet, which check submissions for spam. These services may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and your form content in Akismet’s case.
Security, performance and delivery
The site uses Cloudflare as a content delivery and security service. Cloudflare processes visitors’ IP addresses and request information to deliver pages, block abusive traffic and keep the site available. Images are served through Jetpack’s image CDN, and Jetpack also monitors the site’s uptime. Our web server and these services keep technical logs of requests.
Translation
The GTranslate plugin lets you view pages in other languages. If you choose another language, the page text is processed by a translation service, and the plugin may store your language choice in a cookie.
Downloads
Some pages host PDF downloads through the Download Manager plugin, which may count how many times a file is downloaded.
Links to other sites and affiliate links
The site links to retailers and other services, including Amazon, eBay and Ko-fi. Some links are affiliate links, explained on our affiliate disclosure page. When you click one, the other site may set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your personal details from these sites. We only see aggregate information such as the number of clicks or purchases.
The site does not currently show advertising.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site and the services above may set cookies for analytics, security, caching, language choice and spam protection. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the site working properly.
Our legal basis
Under data protection law (GDPR), we rely on: your consent for analytics cookies where required; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving a small website, and in answering messages sent to us; and your request when you contact us or submit information.
How long we keep information
Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics, a limited period of months. Form messages are kept as described above. Server and security logs are kept for short periods set by the hosting and Cloudflare services.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Use the Contact Me page and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Children
The site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
