The Rare Super Pocket is the seventh edition of the HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket, celebrating over 40 years of games from legendary British developer Rare. It is the first Super Pocket to include a 64-bit console title — Banjo-Kazooie — alongside classic NES, SNES, Game Boy Color, and ZX Spectrum games. Like all Super Pocket editions, it plays the full library of 80+ Evercade cartridges in addition to its 14 built-in games.

DESIGN
The Rare Super Pocket features a distinctive red body with bright yellow face buttons and a blue rear panel — a colour scheme inspired directly by the Banjo-Kazooie logo and Rare’s brand identity. The compact handheld uses the same form factor as all Super Pocket editions: a 2.8-inch IPS LCD with 320 × 240 resolution, built-in speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a single Evercade cartridge slot on the top edge.

The Rare Edition ships with 14 games spanning Nintendo 64, SNES, Game Boy Color, NES, and ZX Spectrum — a tour through Rare’s catalogue from their earliest home computer work right up to their Nintendo 64 peak.

CARTRIDGE COMPATIBILITY
The Rare Super Pocket plays all Evercade cartridges via its standard Evercade slot, giving you access to 730+ games across 80+ carts. Two Rare-related cartridges are worth knowing about:
- Rare Collection 1 — 12 Rare classics on one cartridge. Adds Sabre Wulf, Underwurlde, the original R.C. Pro-Am, and the arcade version of Battletoads not found in the Super Pocket’s built-in library. Available now.
- Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack — includes enhanced versions of both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. Bundled with the Evercade Nexus (October 2026) and also sold separately.

FAQ
Does the Rare Super Pocket play all Evercade cartridges?
Yes — like every Super Pocket, it has a standard Evercade cartridge slot and plays the entire Evercade library of 80+ cartridges.
Is Banjo-Tooie included?
No. The built-in game is Banjo-Kazooie only. Banjo-Tooie is included on the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge, which comes bundled with the Evercade Nexus (launching October 2026) and will also be sold separately.
How does the Rare Edition compare to other Super Pocket editions?
